30 Days of Me Day 28 - This Year, In Great Detail I was going to do this chronologically but figured it would be *slightly* more interesting (and probably easier for me) if I just posted this years’ major events as I recall them. So, in bullet-point form, some of the things I’ve done from September 2009 ‘til now are:
- Went on holiday to the Isle of Wight for the first time
- Started the Slim Fast 321 plan (the first *proper* diet I’ve done)
- Become an Avon representative
- Been an audience member at The London Studios twice - once to see The Saturdays on ‘The Paul O’Grady Show’ & once to support Vanessa on ‘Popstar to Operastar’ in her 2nd
& finalweek - Seen ‘Sister Act’ the musical in the West End
- Had a weekend in Cornwall for what is probably the twentieth time!
- Swore I would never be interested in ‘Twilight’ but let my curiosity get the better of me and watched the first movie. I’m currently in the middle of the first book and will probably watch/read the rest….
- Seen Marina & the Diamonds (supported by Spark) in Cardiff & London
- Started watching vlogs on YouTube almost obsessively, particularly ‘fiveawesomegirls’
- Seen the 25th anniversary tour production of ‘Les Miserables’ in Bristol
- Turned 22 and spent my birthday with my Mum in Harvey Nichols having a manicure & afternoon tea (amaze!)
- Bought tickets for Alphabeat/Eliza Doolittle/Pearl & the Puppets in London before realising they were actually doing a show down the road from me and going to that instead
- Failed the first year of my OU degree as I didn’t get all my assignments in on time (FFFFUUUUU…)
- Become a participant in a clinical/psychological study run by the University of Bristol and am getting free therapy as a result
- Celebrated my 2nd wedding anniversary
- Finished reading The Bible in a year (Jan-Dec ‘09)
- Watched my hubby’s ingrown toenail operation
- Seen The Sats quite a few times, including going to one of their ‘Wordshaker’ listening parties
- Written a lot of song lyrics
- Paid a ridiculous amount for a Lady GaGa ticket and took two coaches and a taxi to get to the NEC just to wait in the cold for hours (desperately needing a wee) before having a panic attack when the doors opened, falling over, being carted to the first aid room in a wheelchair, having my hubby drive 2 hours to pick me up and go home without seeing any of the show. One of the worst nights of my life. I did get to briefly meet @oneofthosefaces though but, as much as I love Grace like most women love Cheryl, I have to say it was not worth it!
- Filled out loads of online surveys and actually earned a decent amount of money/HMV vouchers from it
- Joined the Labour party so I can vote in the upcoming leadership election
- Subscribed to Cosmopolitan magazine but been rubbish at reading one before the next one comes (too busy online/reading books!)
- Missed a Lights concert because I was doing OU work (fat lot of good that did!)
- Decided that my ultimate goal is to own & manage my own boutique hotel
Considering I don’t do a lot in my day-to-day life, I’ve actually managed to come up with a pretty decent list! I’m sure there’s stuff I’ve missed but yeah….if there’s anything significant maybe it’ll get its own post?!
